Frame By Frame
How a custom build comes together, start to ride-away
A bike built to your measure, your riding and your roads — spec'd, ordered and hand-built in the Cardiff workshop. Here's exactly how it goes, start to ride-away.
Consultation & spec
Pop in and get excited with us — no charge, no obligation. Talk through how you ride, what you're picturing, and whether a custom build's right for you.
When we're ready to get into the specifics — the actual frame, groupset and parts spec — that's when the deposit below books your proper specc'ing session.
The spec sheet
We write up the full parts list — frame, groupset, wheels, contact points — with pricing against each, and go through it together line by line before anything's ordered.
Ordering
Parts get ordered once the spec's confirmed. Most framesets and groupsets are in stock or a few weeks out — we'll give you a realistic timeline for your particular spec.
The build
Your bike goes on the stand in the workshop: built up by hand, cables routed and hidden properly, wheels built and trued, everything torqued to spec.
Fit & collection
A final fit check in store, run through the build with you, then it's yours to ride away. The remaining labour balance is due on collection — less the £35 you've already put down.
Alex's Stroma
A Brother Cycles Stroma in Electric Blue, spec'd for bikepacking and wet-weather commuting — see the full parts list and shop every product tagged in the build.
